ADHD Assessment

Leon Springs Counseling & Life Coaching offers an ADHD assessment to children and teens ages 6-18 and adults ages 18 and older. The Brown's Attention Deficit Assessment Tool is used to address ADHD impairments and better identify how the disorder directly impacts academic, social, emotional and behavioral functioning.

The ADHD assessment for adults consists of two sessions. The first for the assessment is 1 and 1/2 hours long and the second for the report is 45 minutes long.

The ADHD assessment for children consists of three sessions.

For children 6-12 years of age:

  • 1st Session - Parents only assessment session
  • 2nd Session - Parents and child assessment session  (1st & 2nd session cannot be back-to-back on the same day.)
  • Child's teacher will be contacted to complete an ADHD screening tool
  • 3rd Session - Final ADHD Report - Both parents and child need to be present for the report. The report session will be scheduled two weeks after the 2nd assessment session.

For teens 13-18 years of age:

  • 1st Session -  Parents and teen session
  • 2nd Session - Parents and teen session (These two sessions can be scheduled back-to-back or on different days.)
  • 3rd Session - Final ADHD Report - Both parents and teen need to be present for the report.  The report session will be scheduled two weeks after the 2nd assessment session.

During the ADHD report session, we will go over the assessment results and the recommended treatment plan which incorporates an individualized approach to overcoming the challenges associated with ADHD.
